How to Make AI the Ultimate Multiplier for Your Business

How can you turn AI into a force multiplier for your business? And how can executives make sure they’re getting hands-on with the technology to understand what it’s capable of, while also giving themselves the space to reimagine how AI could be used to reimagine their businesses?

One of the keys to turning AI into a force multiplier for your business is understanding that there are multiple different types of AI, and learning when it makes sense to deploy each. “Most of us these days when we think of AI, we think of ChatGPT-type applications,” says Chief Product Officer Mohan Rao. “They’re all one part of AI, which is what’s called natural language processing…but there are other types of AI applications as well. There is robotics, there is computer vision, there is speech recognition, there is expert systems.”

Once you understand that AI isn’t limited to just being any one of these things, it helps open up the universe of problems you could use AI to help solve. Gaining a deeper understanding of the different kinds of AI will help determine which business challenges or problems each can be applied to help solve.

“What we’re talking about is reinventing your business and reimagining the world. That doesn’t happen when you’re in the weeds, when you are being reactive,” says CEO David DeWolf. “And I think creating that space to be able to really wrestle with and imagine what the world can be is really important.”

Chief Strategy Officer Pete Buer also talks with Pankaj Chawla, Chief Innovation Officer at 3Pillar Global, about the difference between everyday AI and game-changing AI. Much of what we know and use today to drive productivity and individual workflows falls under the realm of everyday AI. Game-changing AI will be those applications of the technology that have the potential to upend entire business models.

All of that’s not to say that experimenting with and understanding everyday AI isn’t vital as well. In many ways, gaining proficiency with the fundamentals of everyday AI is a stepping stone to unlocking opportunities for inventing game-changing AI.
